TRE is awarded with Detailed Design Contract for EPC Works for the Salalah IPP2 Gas Supply Station

The Oman Government is presently developing a large Industrial Area at Salalah where major industries are expected to start investing in the near future.  In order to meet the initial and future gas demand requirements of the Industrial Area at Salalah, the Oman Gas Company S.A.O.C. (OGC) was tasked by the Oman government to carry out a project for supplying gas to future gas consumers anticipated at Salalah Industrial Area.

As a part of these efforts, Oman Power and Water Procurement company (OPWP) has requested gas supply for a contracted MDQ of up to 80,000 MMBTU/day (LHV) for a new IPP2 Project at Salalah (equating to approximately 2.7 MMSCMD with LHV of 845 BTU/scf). The IPP is being developed to meet the expected demand growth, particularly from the new industries in the Salalah Free Zone and also to improve the overall fuel efficiency of the system.

The Salalah IPP2 will be supplied with gas through a new 12” & 300 meter piping line from existing 24" pipeline (Salalah GSS to DGC GSS).

Oman Gas Company SAOC (OGC) has awarded the EPC of this project to Zawawi Powertech Engineering L.L.C and TR Engineering Consultancy LLC (TRE) is assigned to provide the detailed engineering services for the project.
