Green Projects

Green Projects to achieve Net-Zero Vision - TRE is  focused to support its Clients on the De-carbonization and Global Green Energy Projects:

De-carbonization:

Decarbonization refers to the process of reducing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions resulting from human activity in the atmosphere. The current and optimistic objective of decarbonization is to, eventually, eliminate our carbon dioxide emissions.

Green Energy:

Green energy provides the highest environmental benefit that includes power produced by solar, wind, geothermal, biogas, low-impact hydroelectric and certain eligible biomass sources.

TR Engineering Consultancy LLC (TRE) is committed to support the Country’s initiatives in advancing the fight against climate change. TRE has provided innovative solutions to help combat the climate crisis, by designing environmentally friendly green projects to the major operating companies in the Sultanate envisioning the dawning era of renewables. Oman aims to become a global leader in sustainability and TRE is committed to support the country’s green initiatives to achieve this objective.

TRE actively envisions to support all the clients in developing new solutions and technologies in order to decarbonize its operations and emerge as carbon-neutral energy producers.

De-carbonisation Projects:

Project Title: Detail Engineering For Project Hajar

Client: 44.01

TRE is committed to be a responsible engineering partner and strives to make a significant contribution towards the Country’s Net Zero strategic initiative by 2030.   TRE, actively focuses in supporting innovative solutions in Carbon capturing and elimination of CO2 for the Major Operating companies in the region.

Our Client 44.01, a Company engaged in removing CO2 from the atmosphere safely, efficiently and permanently, has implemented an innovative technology that  permanently mineralizes carbon dioxide (CO2) within rock formations. This rock called Peridotite is found in abundance in Oman and it naturally reacts with CO2 to mineralize it. 44.01 with agreement from the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, has planned to kick off large commercial scale projects in Hajar mountains of Oman and they are also working with ADNOC in UAE for mineralizing the captured CO2 in peridotite rock formation.

Reducing carbon emissions in the environment is one of the most impactful efforts and it will require effective solutions. 44.01 has appointed TRE as an engineering partner to provide best in class design engineering services for their projects. TRE is applying it’s experience and expertise seamlessly in transforming the region to combat climate change.

Project Title: Bahja Rima Smokeless Flare Project - Sadad and Suwaihat Stations

Client: Petroleum Development Oman (PDO)

Project Background:

Bahja/ Rima area is one of the oil and gas producing areas of Petroleum Development Oman located in South of Oman. The existing flare systems in Suwaihat Production Station (PS) and SADAD Production Station (PS) are smoky.

The objective of this project is to replace the existing smoky flares in Suwaihat PS and SADAD PS with environment friendly smokeless flares. The smokeless flare system fully combusts excess hydrocarbons into less harmful carbon dioxide before venting into the atmosphere. The existing flare system has been modified based on the criteria such as capacity enhancement due to addition of new facilities and to achieve smokeless flaring.

This project helps to fully destroy corrosive, toxic and flammable vapors and protect the environment & people in the vicinity of the plant.

Project Title: Block-62 Flare Recovery and Monetization

Client: Occidental of Oman Inc. (OXY)

Our prestigious Client OCCIDENTAL OF OMAN INC. (OXY) is committed to eliminate routine flaring in its oil and gas operations by December 31, 2030.

To achieve this goal, Oxy will seek to:

  • Develop new oil fields operated by Oxy according to plans that incorporate sustainable utilization or conservation of the field’s associated gas, without routine to flaring
  • Implement economically viable solutions to eliminate routine flaring at existing oil fields operated by Oxy as soon as possible, and no later than December 31, 2030
  • Report publicly on flared volumes on an annual basis against a 2020 calendar year baseline.

To incorporate OXY’s overall strategy in reducing routine flaring, OXY Oman Business Unit has established a program to identify volumes and sources of flaring and implement an economically viable projects to recover the flared gas aiming to eliminate continuous flaring from its operating fields across Oman.

TRE has been appointed as engineering consultant to OXY to provide engineering services  for such Projects.

The BLOCK-62 flare recovery and monetization project is one of such projects that focusses on Block 62 Maradi Huraymah (MH) gas plant, where opportunities exist to recover the routine flare gas by converting into synthetic crude using GTL (gas to liquid) technology.

TRE’s scope of work is to design the Balance of Plant (BoP) for Maradi Huraymah (MH) Block-62 Flare recovery and monetization selected option – Gas to Liquid (GTL) package will be a licensor supplied design.

Project: RIMA Reclaimer Facility

Client: Petroleum Development Oman (PDO)

Project Objective:

The objective of this project is to construct a new sludge handling facility at Rima with 120 m3/d capacity for the area demand. The function of the facility is to separate the oil and send it back to RMPS by pipeline; precipitated solids are kept to settle down inside the pit.

The project value drivers are:

  • Minimum Environmental Impact / Ease of Compliance to MECA Requirements
  • Minimum Operational / Maintenance Easiness
  • Minimum Cost (LCC)
  • Minimum Social Impact / Staff & Contractor Impact
  •  Maximise Reliability/ Availability.

Project: F2V – Balance of Plant Scope – Feasibility

Client: Occidental Mukhaizna LLC

Project Background:

Flare to Value LLC (F2V) is an Omani company that has embarked on a mission to create significant growth in deployment of flare gas abatement and reduce flaring around the world. F2V develop projects, own and operate flare gas abatement facilities and hence offer complete solutions without investment from the oil and gas companies.

The current project focusses on Central Processing Facilities (CPF) where opportunities exist to recover  flare gas and use as a fuel.

F2V will be developing this project on DBOOM basis.

TRE’s scope of work is includes

  • Checking technical feasibility of overall F2V Project and provide suggestions to overcome technical challenges, if any.
  • Developing concept study for all utilities and process design required for Balance of plant of CPF Flare gas recovery project
  • Perform adequacy check of the existing system for all aspects of operating, control and safeguarding based on F2V project requirement.
